Cookie dough dip made from chickpeas? What? I was extremely skeptical of this but was craving something sweet and didn't want to indulge at the expense of my waistline. So I found this recipe (and other healthy recipes!) from Chocolate Covered Katie.
Here are the ingredients I used, which vary slightly from the original recipe:
1 1/2 cups chickpeas (1 can, drained) (250g)
1/8 tsp plus 1/16 tsp salttiny bit over
1/8 tsp baking soda
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/4 cup nutella (You can get away with using only 3 T)
2/3 cup brown sugar
Mine turned out darker because I used Nutella. I think Katie must have used almond or peanut butter for her recipe which probably tastes more like cookie dough.
THE OTHER RECIPE IS...
LAUNDRY DETERGENT!
Yeah! I just ran out and thought I was going to make my own so I know there are no crazy harsh chemicals in it and it would last much longer than my little bottle of Tide does. I got a 5 gallon bucket, but you could probably get away with a slightly smaller one.
I combined the following:
1 4lb box Borax
1 4lb box Washing Soda
1 box Baking Soda
1 3lb box OxiClean (I think it was 3 lbs. medium size anyway)
3 bars of soap, grated. I got Kirk's Castile soap, coconut.
Add some drops of essential oil if you like, I haven't done so yet but probably will.
Mix all the ingredients together and use a tablespoon for large loads (it's more concentrated so you can use this amount)
I've done a load with it and it worked just fine! It smells fresh and clean!
who knew this was so easy?!
